It's only a week into the WSOP, but 2010 is already shaping up to be another big year for the UK's Hit Squad.

The Squad's Praz Bansi won his second career WSOP bracelet, taking down the victory in the $1,500 No-Limit event Wednesday.

Following on the heels of an outstanding 2009 performance by the Hit Squad's James Akenhead, the London-based faction of young players is making quite a splash on the poker scene.

"Praz, to me, is a young kid, but there's a whole generation that's come up behind him," said noted UK pro Neil Channing. "The Hit Squad are all brilliant players."

Bansi outlasted a considerable field - 2,092 players, and took home a grand prize of $515,501 for first place.

The bracelet is the second in the 32-year-old Bansi's WSOP career, with the first coming in 2006 in a $1k Texas Hold'em event.

"I was there when he won his first bracelet," Channing said. "I'm excited for him."

With Akenhead coming off final table appearances in both the WSOP and WSOP Europe last year, Bansi is just the latest Hit Squad pro to break through.

The rest of the Hit Squad, which includes Chaz and Sunny Chattha and Karl Mahrenholz will have the rest of the summer to see if they can equal or better Banzi and Akenhead's achievements.

The 2010 WSOP continues through July 17. For comprehensive coverage live from Las Vegas tune in to PokerListings' Live Updates and News.
