Arizona rep signs on to IGREA

Another congressman who initially opposed H.R. 4411, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, has signed on as a cosponsor of Rep. Barney Frank's bill seeking to legalize and regulate online gambling in the United States.

Rep. Raul Grijalva officially became a cosponsor of the Internet Gambling Regulations and Enforcement Act on Wednesday.

Grijalva has been a U.S. representative for Arizona since 2003 and currently serves on the Committee on Education and Labor, the Committee on Natural Resources, and the Committee on Small Business. According to his biography on his congressional site, one of his priorities is protecting civil liberties.

Last year's vote on the UIGEA wasn't the first time Grijalva has stood up for a person's right to gamble online either. In 2003 he also voted against banning Internet gambling using credit cards.
