Argentina grants Victor Chandler gambling license
Online gambling company Victor Chandler made history this week by becoming the first international bookmaker to operate a betting and gaming license in Argentina.
Later this month, Victor Chandler will launch a customized local site in the country, allowing residents to enjoy the company's popular VC Poker room as well as sports betting, casino play and games online.
Argentina's official licensing authority IPLyC, located in the province of Misiones, granted the betting and gaming license after working closely with Victor Chandler and other local partners. The move will allow the 60-year-old gambling business to offer the full range of its services throughout the entire country.
The newest license is part of the company's global development strategy that has seen Victor Chandler operating in 160 countries. In a release, the company outlined its focus on the United Kingdom and international markets given the recent restrictions placed on the gambling industry in the United States.
"Our team has worked hard with the Province of Misiones for some time, and we believe we have found the ideal partner in IPLyC," said company CEO Michael Carlton. "We look forward to a very successful future in this, our first license in South America."
