APT Philippines champ heading to Macau
By Sarah Polson
The Asian Poker Tour is heading to Macau in August, and David Saab will be along for the ride as well to take on another leg of the tour.
Saab was the winner of this year's inaugural leg of the APT in the Philippines in June. The Aussie took home $280,000 for the win.
When the APT sets out for Macau in August, Saab will once again be in play, hoping to get a piece of an even bigger reward. The Macau event will have a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million, and the winner will walk away with $500,000.
If the Philippines event is any indicator, Saab will be up against some stiff competition in Macau as well. The Philippines leg of the tour drew in 317 players, a new record for player participation for an international tournament in the Philippines.
There were also plenty of poker's big-name pros in attendance, including Huck Seed, Mansour Matloubi, Nam Le, Quinn Do, Chip Jett and Karina Jett, Evelyn Ng and Steve Sung.
The APT Macau will take place Aug. 27-31 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino. It has a $5,300 buy-in, but players can also win seats through online qualifiers at several poker sites. Titan Poker, PartyPoker and PKR are all hosting satellites for players to win their way to Macau.
After Macau the APT will head to Seoul, South Korea and Singapore. For more information, visit AsianPT.com.
