Annie Duke hosts Hold'em on the green

Annie Duke is stepping up to the tee for charity next month when she helps host the Ladies First Celebrity Golf Classic in Cabazon, Calif.

The pro will teach a Texas Hold'em tutorial and mini tournament during the May 18-20 event at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.

The golf tournament is to raise money for the Women's Sports Foundation's GoGirlGo! initiative and will feature female celebrities from the film, television, music and sports industries.

In addition to Duke's tournament and tutorial, the long weekend is to include rounds of golf, clinics, receptions, dinners and spa time.

A ladies-only event to raise money for women's charity is a natural fit for Duke, one of the world's best female poker players and supporter of women's sport.

"I hope that through my success in poker I can set an example for women everywhere the they can compete on an equal footing as men, that women can succeed in competition in what is traditionally a man's world," she said in a release.

"I am very pleased to be participating in the Ladies First weekend because I believe its mission, and the cause it supports, align with this message."
