Anchorage mayor declares Bad Beat on Cancer Day

Join Phil and Rafe in Anchorage for Bad Beat on Cancer Day Sunday.

Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich has declared Sunday "Bad Beat on Cancer Day" to help honor Phil Gordon and Rafe Furst and the work they do to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Phil Gordon and Rafe Furst will be in Anchorage on Sunday to host the Bad Beat on Cancer No Limit Hold'em Seminar to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Players can head to the Egan Center on Sunday to participate in the seminar for $250 at the door or $200 in advance, with all proceeds benefiting the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The seminar topics include:
- Reading your opponent
- Selective aggression strategies
- Playing the player
- Position, position, position
- Calculating pot odds
The seminar will be followed by a "Free-Roll Hold'em Poker Tournament" for attendees.
All students at the seminar will receive a certificate of completion and prizes will also be awarded. The top student will receive an evening of private instruction from Phil Gordon.
The top 20 students will receive entry into the Fur Rendezvous Tournament of Champions. Other prizes include Full Tilt Poker gear, a Poker Players Alliance poker table, books by Phil Gordon and more.
