American wins UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic
By Sarah Polson
Devon Miller, from the United States, was crowned champion of the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic Saturday after defeating a field of 512 players. He takes home $744,960 for his efforts.
After three days of play, the final table came down to Devon Miller, Jason Atwood, Jared Brintz, Terry Eischens, Cliff Josephy, and Joe Sebok. Miller started the final table as the chip leader, but he still had to fight for the win.
Heads-up came down to Miller versus Josephy, also known as Johnny Bax. Josephy had battled his way back from fifth in the chip count when final table play began, but was still the chip underdog.
Despite a six-to-one lead on him, it still took an hour for Miller to defeat Josephy to win his share of the $2,560,000 prize pool and become the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic champion.
The final table results were as follows:
| Place | Name | Prize |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Devon Miller | $744,960 |
| 2nd | Cliff Josephy | $446,975 |
| 3rd | Terry Eischens | $235,905 |
| 4th | Jared Brintz | $136,565 |
| 5th | Joe Sebok | $99,330 |
| 6th | Jason Atwood | $69,530 |
