Alex Jacob wins U.S. Poker Open

Alex Jacob won his first major tournament Saturday in the U.S. Poker Championship $10,000 main event at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. The 22-year-old earned $878,500 for his win.

Jacob conquered a field of more than 260 players to earn the championship title and the cash prize. His previous best placing in a tournament was second in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Foxwoods Poker Classic Championship event in April.

To win, Jacob had to go heads-up against Jordan Morgan, another young pro who was signed on as a member of the InterPoker.com Extreme Team this summer. Morgan earned $405,072 for his second place finish.
