Al Roker Wednesday talks to Connecticut students about gambling addiction
By PokerListings.com
Several Masuk High School students in Monroe, Connecticut, actively participate in the Gambling Awareness in Monroe through Educating Students (GAMES) program, and will be featured in an upcoming Court TV special on teen gambling to be aired this fall.
Rather than promote an anti-gambling lifestyle, the GAMES program aims to educate students about the dangers of gambling addiction and to teach them to control their urges.
The special, hosted by Al Roker Wednesday, will present the student's views on teen gambling. Other topics will include a discussion on how the proximity of two of the United States' biggest casinos affect these students, as well as celebrity poker playing and the recent upsurge in the broadcasting of tournaments on TV.
