Ichinose, meanwhile, becomes Japan's first-ever full fledged PokerStars Team Pro, following in the footsteps of Team Online's groundbreaking Naoya Kihara.

Kosei began playing poker in 2006 while studying in Canada and has since gone on to become Japan's first player to reach Supernova Elite status.

He also has live scores dating back to 2006 and is 10th on Japan's all-time live money earners list.

Previously known as 'shinbunshi,' Ichinose will now play on PokerStars under the username ‘Kosei Ichinose.'

“The signing of these Team Pros from India and Japan," said Kirsty Thompson, PokerStars’ Head of Pro & Celebrity Management, "is an important step in helping promote the game in countries where poker is only just coming to the fore.

"Both players are highly respected within the poker sphere, and their success and passion for the game will no doubt spread throughout their local and national communities.”

Both players will make their live debuts as Team PokerStars members at the Aussie Millions in Melbourne later this month.
