Africa's biggest ever freezeout announced

By Christopher Hunt

The burgeoning African poker community is about to make its boldest foray into the international tournament scene. Pros Robert Williamson III and "Cowboy" Kenna James will host the inaugural five-day South Africa Poker Festival 2007 in May, which will include Africa's biggest freezeout tournament ever.

The first-ever SA Poker Open will be the festival finale, with a $3,000 buy-in freezeout that will not only be the biggest, but the first internationally-recognized tournament in Africa's history.

The SA Poker Champion will be crowned May 13, and the complete festival will be broadcast on the All Africa Poker Channel.

Hosted by the MonteCasino Resort, the festival will also include a three-day Poker Fantasy Camp hosted by the pros with daily seminars, question and answer sessions, and sit-and-go tournaments where the pros will reveal some of their playing secrets.

James will bring an impressive tally of No-Limit final tables to the mix, while Williamson, one of the world's best Omaha players, will do a special seminar to introduce participants to some of the basic game play and strategy of the lesser-known game.
