Adam Levy becomes a star at UltimateBet

Adam Levy

UltimateBet announced today it has signed online dominator Adam Levy to join its prestigious Star Players team as its fifth and newest member.

Levy, who is perhaps better-known by his online handle "Roothlus," has put together an impressive run of live cashes in the past year, including five at the World Series of Poker.

With 100 players left in the Main Event Levy was one of the more prominent ones remaining, and was seen constantly raking in pots while talking up a storm with the players at his table. Levy finally busted out in 48th to take down an impressive $135,100.

The Orlando, Fla. native first made waves in the poker world when he nearly made the final table of the 2007 WPT North American Poker Championships. Levy was eventually eliminated ninth for $84,437.

According to Annie Duke, UltimateBet's Cardroom Consultant, an UltimateBet Star Player is one who has an undisputed high level of skill and lots of integrity, and who is well-respected in the world of online poker.

Like well-known poker pros David Williams and Eric Froehlich, Levy began his cardplaying career with a game called Magic: The Gathering. The fantasy card game emphasized strategy, odds and opponent reading, which were all useful when Levy eventually moved on to poker.

Levy quickly found success in the online world and won PartyPoker Super Tuesday in 2005 for $31,0000. Since then he has become one of the most consistent online players in the world. He now lays claim to a lifetime cash haul of more than $1.8 million.

Levy will join Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy, James "P0KERPRO33" Campbell, Tracy Scala and Tiffany Michelle as an official member of the UltimateBet Star Players Team.

UltimateBet currently has over two million users and is the only poker room on the Internet designed with the assistance of Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.
