WSOP player prevented from flying to Vegas
By Lars Sundin
The Swedish member of Team PokerStars.com, Dilba Demirbag, was prevented from boarding her flight to Las Vegas and the 2007 WSOP Main Event yesterday. On a question regarding the purpose of her voyage, she apparently mentioned something about blowing up airplanes.
Swedish pop singer Dilba signed with PokerStars.com in January after finishing second in the Poker Million. First place went to Johan Storakers.
Since then she's played a number of EPT events for Team PokerStars.com and has taken fifth place in the Sunday Warm-Up tournament at the poker site as well. When arriving to the security check at the Stockholm Airport on Monday morning, supposedly annoyed by the early hour and the general fuss common to busy airports, Dilba was questioned as to the purpose of her trip to the United States, like everybody else.
On a whim, she then made the unfortunate joke about blowing up airplanes.Dilba is attempting her Vegas takeoff again today - this time probably without any imprudent jokes.
