888poker’s biggest tournament series is back next month and the guarantees are higher than ever.
After a very successful $2m-guaranteed series in January of this year 888poker will bring back a 40-event Super XL Series as a kick-off to the 2016 WSOP.
This time there will be $3 million in guaranteed prize pools and the main event will feature $1,000,000 guaranteed. Some more important numbers:

- Dates: May 14-22
- Main Event: May 22
- Buy-ins from $5 to $2,100
“That’s amazing news," said 888poker Team Pro Dominik Nitsche, "as it will give me a chance to get in some big tournaments before playing the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl.
"I will be playing on 888 a lot practicing and trying out a few new, different things I have been working on.”

(Semi)-Crazy Eights
The series kicks off with a nod to 888poker’s new “Crazy Eights” tournament at the 2016 WSOP. It’s an 8-handed $88 No-Limit Hold'em event with $88,888 guaranteed.
The winner will get a ticket to the “Crazy Eights” event in Las Vegas. More notable tournaments:
- Event #5: $250,000 Opening Event Multi-Chance
- Event #7: $200,000 Whale
- Event #10: $15,000 Omaha
- Event #15: $400,000 High Roller
- Event #18: $30,000 8-Max
- Event #21: $10,000 Americas Event
- Event #32: $50,000 6-Max
There will also be a few “Americas events” that start late at night (if you’re European) to accommodate players on the American continents. Expect 888 Team Pros Bruno Kawauti, Nicolau Villa-Lobos and Bruno Politano to be in these.
During the last XL series the three Brazilians - along with fellow Team Pros Nitsche, Sofia Lövgren, Jackie Glazier and Akira Ohyama – all played the main event. Newly appointed ambassador Kara Scott will also be there this time around.
The biggest take in the last XL main event was by Finnish player jnevanli who claimed $182,635 - not a bad hourly rate in a 12-hour tournament.
