$5,000 event winner announced at Borgata

The $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em event of the Borgata Winter Poker Open played down its final table yesterday. With Michael Mizrachi in the hunt for the win as well, it was a tough table but Matthew Casterella pulled out the win.

Casterella won $375,100 for his first place finish. He was followed by Elio Cabrera in second for $211,750 and John Myung in third for $114,950.

Casino favorite Wild Bill Edler also made the final table coming in fourth for $84,700. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi came in seventh to add $48,400 to his bankroll.

The Borgata is also reporting that one of their $100 Act 1 satellite winners has moved on to win the Act II and earn himself in the World Poker Tour main event of the tournament.

His initial $100 investment netted him a $10,000 seat and a chance to play for the $1.6 million top prize.

He joins more than 560 people in the playing field including big names such as Mizrachi, Phil Ivey, Mike Matusow, Gavin Smith, Vanessa Rousso, Joe Sebok, Erick Lindgren and more.
