$3 million up for grabs at WCOOP Event 5

The Winning Hand

By Sarah Polson

With a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Event 5 was expected to be a big one. It didn't disappoint as 6,025 loyal poker players showed up to play in the No-Limit Hold'em event.

Not only did the massive playing field boost the prize pool up over $3 million, it kept play going for more than 20 hours - not quite a PokerStars record for longest tournament in history, but a record for a WCOOP tournament.

In the end, the top two players would chop the remaining prize pool, but it would be AB_illusive from Denmark who would get the $150,000 they chose to leave for the winner as well as the WCOOP bracelet.

After chopping the pot and leaving the required 5% to play for, AB_illusive and taktloss47 got down to business. The two battled back and forth for the chip lead and then it came down to a final hand where taktloss47 went all-in with K-Q.

AB_illusive called with pocket threes, and the board brought nothing for taktloss47.

The final-table results were:
