2013 WCOOP to Start with $1.5m GTD Event
Liv Boeree wouldn't mind a WCOOP title.
The 2013 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker is nearly here with a massive $1.5 million GTD tournament to kick off the action.
This year’s WCOOP will run from Sept. 8-29 with a total of 66 events on tap.
As usual tournaments will run the complete gamut of poker variants with everything from No-Limit Hold’em to 5-Card Omaha on the schedule.
Of course the centerpiece of the series is the massive $8 million-guaranteed Main Event on Sept. 29.
Here’s a look at some of the highlight events over the entire series:
- Sept. 8: WCOOP-01 $109 NLHE ($500k GTD)
- Sept. 10: WCOOP-17 $215 NL Single-Draw 2-7 ($50k GTD)
- Sept. 15: WCOOP-23 $10,300 NL 8-Max 2nd Chance ($2m GTD)
- Sept. 22: WCOOP-45 $2,100 NLHE ($2m GTD)
- Sept. 28: WCOOP-62 $700 NLHE Super Knockout ($1m GTD)
- Sept. 29: WCOOP-66 $5,200 NLHE Main Event ($8m GTD)
Check out the complete WCOOP schedule.
Last year saw one of the most spectacular WCOOP Main Events ever as Russian Marat “maratik” Sharafutdinov, who satellited into the tournament for just 40 FPPs, went on to win the entire thing for $1 million.
Registration for the series is already swelling with both Events 1 and 2 up to thousands of entries.
PokerStars always offers a ton of qualifying options and this year is no exception so check the lobby for a way to get in the action for cheap. You can also sign up for a PokerStars account.
