2008 WSOP Day 37: Day 1c begins
By Sean Lind
Action is well under way in the third Main Event Day 1. A number of pros and celebrities have chosen today as their first day of Main Event action.
Some of the big names to have started play today are David Sklansky, Arnold Spee, Ayaz Mahmood, Jason Somerville, J.C. Tran, Isabelle Mercier, Joe Tehan, Archie "The Greek" Karas, Gabe Costner, Rhett Butler, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Francois Safieddine, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Amnon Filippi, Steve Wong and Tony G.
The list goes on, with Liz Lieu, Justin Bonomo, Daniel Alaei, David Chicotsky, Scott Seiver, Matt Graham, Jerrod Ankenman, Larry Flynt, William Rockwell, Evelyn Ng, Sorel Mizzi, Chris Grigorian, Alan Sass, Jesper Hoog, Jordan Rich, Terrence Chan and Matt Parvis all at the felt as well.
T.J. Cloutier, Bill Chen, Marco Traniello, Gary Benson, Ryan Hughes, Sam Farha and David Plastik are all beginning their day in the Brasilia Room.
Huck Seed got eliminated from the WSOP Main Event after being outkicked with trip sevens, meeting a fate similar to Shawn Buchanan's. Buchanan took an early leave after seeing his set of sevens get beat by a set of jacks.
Not surprisingly, the big names are making big moves. Farha is sending unknowns with premium hands to the rail with his well-played junk, and Brian Townsend is doing what he does best, getting it in with the best of it and taking down the pot.
In other name-player news, Larry Flynt got himself hustled out of the Main Event not too shortly before the break.
The numbers are yet to be concrete for the day, but as soon as they're made official our live updates section will have you covered.
